Fortunately for us, homework is on our side. Since the shape of the logo has been around since the early 1900s for exactly the Yosemite Valley Railroad (This is where the shape of our logo comes from …see link below) and the train is one of the trains that actually existed for the YVR, I have a difficult time believing that anyone would be naive enough to say it’s a rip-off. Many historic train logos have been updated and look very much the same from specific time periods. I’ve listed some links of other similar logos below. I’m not sure when the one on logopond was designed, but it really doesn’t matter. Our logo is based purely on historic reference. And come on….the shapes don’t even match!
I’m actually very disappointed in your comments. I’ll just repeat HOMEWORK and of course RESEARCH!!!!!
Yosemite Valley Railroad original logo shape
RR Logo 1 Sample
RR Logo 2 Sample
RR Logo 3 Sample
RR Logo 4 Sample (just in case you wonder about the sun being prominent in many of these types of logos)
…and another RR Logo 5 Sample
…and yet another sun logo RR Logo 6 Sample
Anyways, I could beat a dead horse, but a train is a train, and train logos have looked like this for many years. Google ‘railroad logo’ and you’ll see how little you actually know about train logos.
I’d really like to see comments that back me up on this.

i agree. most train logo things ALREADY have this same style. all trains look very much alike, the colors used are usually the same, and the sun is usually in the background. HENCE why a place like Iron Door would want one because it is very old fashioned. in case you were wondering too, this logo is very popular throughout gold country and in california. and also: what the heck did you expect from a train logo ? thomas the engine ?!?
